In May 2013, DARDA acknowledged our 2012 "Agatha Shillingford Scholarship" recipient, Evonna Johnique Renault, during a reception held in Roseau, Dominica. Evonna was awarded a full scholarship to cover academic expenses (such as tuition, books, transportation, uniform, fees associated with extra-curricular activities) and other expenses incurred that, if not covered, might negatively impact her education (e.g., eye glasses).
DARDA's hands on scholarship committee will remain engaged with Evonna by reviewing her report cards and liaising with school personnel, Evonna and her family to keep abreast of her performance and offer encouragement.
The scholarship - which provides funding for academic and other extra-curricular expenses annually to a student in Dominica - is managed by our scholarship committee located in Dominica. members include Anne Lewis, Dorothy Levy, Davies Letang, and Philip Alleyne. Jennifer White and Kathleen trotter also serve on the committee as DARDA Local Chapter representatives.
